The Erlanger Neuromuscular Medicine Clinic provides comprehensive evaluation and management of disorders of the peripheral nervous system (PNS). The PNS is comprised of components of the spinal cord, peripheral nerves, neuromuscular junction, and muscles. Due to the complex nature of many of these disorders, our clinic is led by a board-certified neuromuscular specialist.
Conditions We Treat and Manage
Neuromuscular specialists play an integral role in the evaluation and/or management of a wide variety of conditions including:
- Myasthenia gravis
- Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
- CIDP (Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy)
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Ulnar neuropathy
- Cervical radiculopathy
- Peripheral neuropathy
- Muscular dystrophy
- Inflammatory myopathies (e.g., dermatomyositis)
- Peripheral nerve hyperexcitability
- Advanced management of pediatric and adult chronic neuromuscular conditions
- Advanced immunomodulatory treatment of autoimmune neuromuscular disorders (such as intravenous immunoglobulin or IVIG)
- Chemodenervation
