Dr. Ryan Voskuil is an orthpaedic surgeon with fellowship training in adult and pediatric orthopaedic oncology. Following medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, he spent five years in Chattanooga completing an orthopaedic surgical residency at Erlanger through the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga. During this time, he developed skills in fracture care, joint replacement, arthroscopy, and care for many other common orthopaedic problems.
He spent an additional year of focused subspecialty training in orthopaedic oncology and complex limb salvage and reconstruction at Ohio State University at one of the largest cancer hospitals in the country, The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, and the largest free-standing children’s hospital, Nationwide Children’s Hospital. While there, he provided care for adult and pediatric bone and soft-tissue sarcomas, metastatic bone disease, benign tumors, and complex joint revision and reconstruction. In addition, he learned novel techniques for pelvic and extremity bone resections and reconstruction, as well as gained experience in the non-invasive expandable juvenile tumor system.
In 2020, Dr. Voskuil returned to Erlanger, becoming the region’s only fellowship-trained orthopaedic oncologist. He is actively involved in educating residents while creating the region’s first dedicated sarcoma team and bringing orthopaedic oncology principles to the management of metastatic bone disease.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three young sons and experiencing the outdoor activities the area has to offer.
