Todd E. Thurston, MS, MD, is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Thurston is a graduate of the University Of Alabama School Of Medicine. While there, he was one of the co-founders of the Equal Access Clinic which provides indigent care to the Birmingham area. He then attended the University of Kansas Medical Center where he completed an integrated plastic and reconstructive plastic surgery residency. He subsequently completed a craniomaxillofacial fellowship at the University of Michigan. Dr. Thurston is the Director of pediatric plastic surgery for Children's Hospital at Erlanger and serves as the region’s only craniofacial surgeon.
Dr. Thurston’s practice includes cosmetic surgery of the face, breast, and body. Additionally, he has a special interest in the care of children with cleft and craniomaxillofacial anomalies as well as interests in research and quality improvement initiatives to ensure that patients receive the most appropriate, affordable, and highest quality medical care available.
Dr. Thurston is a member of multiple medical professional societies including the American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association and the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is published in multiple peer-reviewed medical journals including Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Laryngoscope, and the Journal of Craniofacial Surgery.
Dr. Thurston lives on Signal Mountain with his wife Ashley and their children. He enjoys time with his family, sailing, mountain biking, and photography.
