Dr. Ryan Cleary serves as the Medical Director for Radiation Oncology at Erlanger Health System, where he specializes in the treatment of pancreatic cancer among other malignancies. A native of Corbin, KY, Dr. Cleary graduated summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular and Cellular Biology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, graduating as valedictorian and a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Dr. Cleary completed his internship in internal medicine at the University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital, followed by a residency in radiation oncology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he served as chief resident. His advanced training includes proficiency in cutting-edge techniques such as intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT/SABR), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), and both high dose rate (HDR) and low dose rate (LDR) brachytherapy. Dr. Cleary is board-certified to treat both adult and pediatric patients, bringing comprehensive expertise to his practice.
Dr. Cleary is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care and is committed to advancing the treatment of pancreatic cancer through innovative radiation therapies. His leadership in the field of radiation oncology ensures that patients receive the highest standard of care tailored to their individual needs.
Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Cleary enjoys spending quality time with his family, including his wife, Laura, and their three children. His personal interests include traveling, cooking, and engaging in various outdoor activities.
