About / Overview

Dr. Patrick Williams grew up in Columbus, MS, and graduated cum laude from the University of Mississippi with a BS in civil engineering. He completed medical school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He completed an internal medicine internship at St. Mary's Medical Center in San Francisco and radiation oncology residency at the University of Southern California. His training included proficiency in intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy (SABR/SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) with Gamma Knife Perfexion and CyberKnife, and high dose rate (HDR) and low dose rate (LDR) brachytherapy.

While in residency he opened two Phase I prospective clinical trials that explored the psychology of the cancer patient and how treatments impact the mental health of cancer survivors. One was a unique study investigating the act of ringing a cancer bell on the final day of treatment and its impact on patient memory and received national press from several media outlets upon publication. In 2018 he moved to San Luis Obispo, CA and worked with Coastal Radiation Oncology before joining Tennessee Oncology in Chattanooga in 2020. In his free time, he enjoys and spending time with his wife and three children, reading and writing fiction, cycling, and fly fishing.
