Dr Mark Rowin graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center with his MD degree in 1989. He then completed his pediatric residency at Duke University. Following his residency, he pursued a joint fellowship in pediatric critical care and infectious diseases at the University of Utah. Dr Rowin began his post-fellowship clinical career at Cincinnatti Children's Hospital in 1997. While there, he studied signaling mechanisms in inflammatory states as well as neutrophil biology. In 2001, he was appointed interim director of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at the Children's Medical Center in Dayton, OH, a Cincinnatti Children's affiliate hospital. In 2005, Dr Rowin earned his Associate Professor title and in 2007 he was appointed division head of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine the Children's Medical Center. In 2009, Dr Rowin left the Cincinnatti Children's Hospital system and relocated to Chattanooga.
